Frequently Asked Questions
FOR ORGANISATIONS - HIRING _NOLOGISTS
So far, over 90% of our _nologists have moved into full time roles directly with our hiring partners.
There’s always a 4 week notice period and a swap in/swap out policy. We also have a fantastic _nologist support team who ensure we tackle any issues before they become problems.
We have dedicated partnerships with upskilling opportunities and resources including Microsoft Certifications and Google Career Certificates which we offer all _nologists. We have fortnightly sessions with each individual to make sure they're getting the mentorship and technical support they need throughout their placement.
_nologists work full-time for our hiring partners and should be treated like an employee. We encourage them to join in your culture and socials to make their experience the best it can be.
_nologists have been through 12 weeks of practical, hands on training using tools they’ll use in the workplace. This means they can start delivering from day 1.
Beyond this, we have a dedicated support team who solely focus on _nologist professional and technical development. This helps to relieve any reliance upon line managers, saving them time too.
The only cost to you is the day rate for days worked. This fee encompasses our attraction, assessment, training, support, continued L&D, holiday, sick leave and employer costs. So on a like to like basis, our total cost is comparable. In addition to this, you have the flexibility of a 4-week contract notice and reduced time-to-hire with our immediately available talent pool.
FOR APPLICANTS - APPLYING TO _NOLOGY
After you’ve submitted an application, we’ll set up an initial phone call to talk in more detail about your interests in starting a tech career.
We then have three stages that assess skills in communication, problem solving, teamwork and aptitude to learn.
Upon completion of each stage, a selection of applicants will be invited to progress to the next stage. We regularly check in to see how you are feeling and if you have any questions along the way. Here’s what to expect:
Stage 1: Skills Assessment – an online assessment answering a series of logic and behavioural style questions
Stage 2: Group Assessment – an interactive video call with group activities and tasks to complete together
If both the Admissions and Coaching Teams are confident that you're a strong candidate for the course, you'll be offered a place on an upcoming intake.
You don't need any qualifications or previous experience of coding to join _nology. In fact, we encourage applicants from all different backgrounds because we know the value of transferable skills.
Any tech-related experience that you have gained through studies or self-learning may prove helpful in the earlier stages of the course, but is by no means necessary. What's more important to us is that you're passionate about launching a career in tech and have done the research and self-reflection to know that it's the right path for you.
Any experience you have in a professional or fast-paced working environment, or working directly with clients and/or customers is beneficial but not essential.
Please note: All applicants must have full working rights in Australia for a minimum of 2 years.
This is a common misconception for learning to code and we're here to bust the myth! Having a mathematical background may help you when learning technical coding concepts and logical problem-solving, however, you do not have to be a coveted mathematician to learn how to code. More than half of our trainees come from a non-STEM background!
You must be at least 18 years of age to join _nology.
There is no upper age limit and we encourage people from all ages to fuel their interests in coding! There is a 27 year age difference between our youngest and oldest trainees (so far!).
Our course is right for anyone who has a passion for technology and wants to join the digital revolution!
Applicants are selected based on their attitude, work ethic, ability to problem-solve, creativity and coachability. We look for highly motivated self-starters, with the ability to learn independently as well as in group environments. Provided that you possess these qualities, we can teach you the tricky tech stuff!
We are proud to select and hire based on overall potential, not previous education or tech experience.
